Your Step-by-Step Guide

Welcome to the CISVA job application process. We're pleased you are considering joining our faith-based community. At CISVA, we prioritize the spiritual, intellectual, and personal growth of our students while supporting our staff. This guide assists you in applying for a position, whether you are an experienced teacher or new to Catholic education. We look forward to possibly welcoming you to our dedicated team.

Step 1

Step 1: Create a Make A Future Profile

Start by creating an online profile on Make A Future, our preferred application platform. This is required for teacher, education assistant, and office support staff positions.

    • BC Teaching Certificate

    • Criminal Record Check (if outside BC)

    • Resume

    • Proof of Eligibility to Work in Canada

    • Catholic Marriage Certificate (if applicable)

    • University Transcripts

    • Teacher Practicum Evaluation (for recent graduates)

    • Two Recent Professional Reference Letters

    • Application for Catholics or Applicant Declaration for Non-Catholics

    • Statement of Health and Character

    • Verification of Teaching Experience (not applicable for TOC and EA positions)

    • Catholic Pastoral Reference

Upload all required documents to your Make A Future profile and submit your application for the desired position.

What Happens Next?

  • Applications are processed in the order they are received. The Superintendent's Office will review your application.

  • If your application meets the initial requirements, you'll be scheduled for an interview with the Associate Superintendent of Human Resources.

  • After approval from the Superintendent's Office, principals of individual schools will conduct interviews with suitable candidates. Short-listed applicants may be called for a second interview with the school's Education Committee

  • If selected, you'll receive a job offer from the school's hiring committee. Contract signing and other documentation will be completed at the school level
